Join us in welcoming Dr. Morgan Martin and Rise Primary Care to Jacksonville!
Martin is from Calhoun County, a native to the Wellington/Alexandria area and graduate of Alexandria High School. Now she has a wall of diplomas from around the state — the universities of Auburn and Alabama are prominently displayed, alongside plaques honoring her that include a Chief Resident Award from her time with UAB’s Huntsville Family Medicine Residency Program — and has decided to come back home to serve her community’s health needs.
Her clinic, Rise Primary Care, held its grand opening Friday at 1642 Pelham Road, across from Walmart.
Martin offers primary care for the whole family, ranging from the elderly down to kids ages 5 and older. Rise isn’t an urgent care — though patients can be seen quickly during the week, Martin said — but provides patients with overviews of their health, diagnoses for new conditions and help managing chronic conditions, with the goal of giving them better understanding of any challenges they’re facing and creating an opportunity to get ahead of medical issues.
“A lot of times people think they don’t need to see a doctor until they have a problem, but a big part of what family medicine does is preventative care, preventing problems before they occur,” Martin said. “I think you’d be surprised about how much it can help your overall life and health, not only in the short term but in the long term.”
Martin is all about improvement; the Rise slogan is “Raising standards, raising families.”
“There are few different places to go with ‘Rise,’ but I wanted the name to evoke hope and improvement,” Martin explained. “Things can always get better, always go up, always improve.”
